Jamie Plumb – 23h 52m 28s on the 25th of May 2026. Knee surgery in January and no ride over 3 hours in the last year, Jamie still enters the hall of fame, chapeau!

Essentially it was foolish and dangerous to have attempted it in the hottest day on record in May in the UK! But that’s the time window I had with my kids away with my wife taking them off the hands for a few days. It was unimaginably challenging from 10am to 19:30 when the relenting heat just didn’t let up- I had to stop at each tap and essentially take a full shower – I think in total I drink over 20 litres of water in the whole ride! In hindsight I should have actual planned this but hindsight is a wonderful thing and it’s a monkey off my back having bailed on this in 2022. I think I probably won’t ever to this again but hey who knows ?!
